Specialty LIR Frangible Mast

Jaquith Industries is actively involved in developing state-of-the-art frangible hardware systems for clear zone applications. Dramatically enhancing air travel safety with options including:

Runway Visual Range (RVR)
Airport Surface Detection Equipment
Model X (ASDE-X)
Area Flood Lighting

Jaquith has been actively adapting these applications to mount on LIR Fiberglass Masts where frangibility is necessary. Jaquith Top Cap Interfaces and L.I.R Accessories mate with a variety of equipment. Ground mounted applications are available from 6 ft. to 40 ft. Platform mounted mast are also available.

In the 1980's, working with the FAA Central Region, Jaquith Industries, using the LIR design, developed a specialty non-frangible fiberglass tower for equipment outside required airfield frangibility zones. These specialty towers support a wide array of equipment including:

Remote Communications Air to Ground (RCAG)
Back-Up Emergency Communication (BUEC)
Tactical Air Navigation Monitors (TACAN)
Moving Target Indicator (MTI)

These rigid masts are lowered for service just as the frangible version, using a lifting/lowering device that is operated by one maintenance technician. Minimal maintenance and ease of operation have been the keys to these Specialty masts deployment across the USA.
